Where has the year gone? The weeks are absolutely flying by and from now on, every Friday, a member of the Brisk team is going to compile all the PR, marketing and social updates together and put them into a juicy article.


On Tuesday, the entire Brisk Agency team left an hour and a half early to go and watch England play Germany. The night came around and after 55 years of hurt, 55 years of heartbreak and 55 years of false hope... WE FINALLY BEAT GERMANY (2-0 at Wembley).

It's fair to say, there were some sore heads around the office on Wednesday.

Believe it or not, England is now a favourite for Euro 2020, with bookies slashing the odds on football coming home this summer.

This would be a great opportunity for those in the sport and betting industries, as you can offer some commentary on England’s odds. Alternatively, you might want to launch a campaign looking at the most valuable football shirts of UEFA history, to even rankings across the highest-paid Euro 2020 players.

England will now play Ukraine in Rome, tomorrow (Saturday), at 8PM. Come on Southgate!


Run by the Plastic Free Foundation, Plastic Free July is a key initiative that aims to sensitise and inform people regarding plastic waste.

Perhaps you have a health-related client who could offer top tips on reducing your carbon footprint, or the best ways to recycle certain products with tricky packaging. There is also the opportunity for informational lifestyle campaigns. For instance, you could reimagine famous artwork using recyclable material or calculate how much plastic waste consumers generate due to fast fashion.

Snapchat has established a new deal with Universal Music Group (UMG), which will enable Snap users to add song clips from UMG artists via its in-app Sounds library. In addition, Snapchat’s also looking to add curated playlists within its Sounds options which will make it easier for Snapchatters to find audio content for their Snaps.

If you're a musician/band or artist, you should be looking into how to optimise Snapchat for your marketing campaigns.

It’s back and whether you’re a fan or not, Love Island will be dominating conversations this summer!

Whether you're in the retail or beauty industry, the hit show offers plenty of opportunities for any brand that wants to target audiences who are watching Love Island.

As the show airs every night and the information (alongside the drama) is never ending, the best approach would be newsjacking pieces. Why not look into how much islanders earn on Instagram or partner with a body language expert to reveal which couple will, possibly, win the show? This is the content that will spread like wildfire!


As per Zuckerberg:

"We're bringing Shops to WhatsApp which will make it easier for people to find the products or brands that they want to engage with."

That could be a significant move, because while WhatsApp is the most used messaging app in the world, monetisation of that audience has been difficult, because people don't want ads in their private message threads, and ads in WhatsApp Status, its own version of Stories, didn't work out.

Facebook clearly have the goal of owning the Internet, and this move will be great for brands but also consumers.

Instagram has released a significant new e-commerce feature that gives black-owned brands the option to add a label signifying diversity. Once the "Black-Owned" label has been added to a profile, opportunities for discoverability improve considerably. Instagram will be using this label to add and highlight Black-led business profiles in the Shop tab and curated product collections.

This is a great move by Instagram to help push diversity.
